Fazer Bem+ for Leiria

Following the storms that affected the district of Leiria, novobanco mobilized an immediate solidarity response to support the most impacted communities. Over a period of approximately two weeks, around 140 volunteers from across the country were on the ground every day, working in coordination with Cáritas Diocesana de Leiria and other local entities, providing direct support to the affected populations.The actions included the distribution of essential materials, logistical support, and the cleaning of severely affected areas, contributing to the recovery of homes and the safety of communities. This mobilization reflects novobanco’s commitment to solidarity, volunteering, and effective support for communities in situations of greater vulnerability.As part of the response to the emergency situation caused by the severe weather phenomenon that affected the district of Leiria, novobanco provided a total donation of 137,500€ to organizations operating on the ground. Of this amount, 70,000€ was allocated to Cáritas Diocesana de Leiria for direct support to the affected populations, and 67,500€ to the Portuguese Red Cross, including remaining funds from previous emergency support actions.novobanco employees also donated essential goods, further strengthening the support provided to the affected communities.
