Micro savings is an innovative savings solution tailored to your means, helping you start saving effortlessly.

How it works?

  • An innovative way to save effortlessly, tailored to what you can put aside.

    Micro-Savings allows you to round up the payments you make from your current account. You choose the rounding amount, and that difference is automatically transferred to a savings account of your choice.

    You have full flexibility. You can set different destination accounts for different types of transactions and rounding rules. And you can change or cancel your Micro‑savings setup at any time.

How can you join?

Choose your payments

Access novobanco Online or visit your Branch and select the payments made from your current account that you want to use for micro‑saving

Choose your rounding method

Select the rounding rule you want to apply: multiples of €1, €2, €5 or €10

Choose your savings account

Select the savings account where your rounded amounts will be transferred. It can be your own account or an account belonging to a family member or friend

 

How to save?

You micro‑save gradually and effortlessly. You can choose one of four rounding options: €1, €2, €5 or €10.

Here’s an example of how your Micro-Poupança - Micro‑savings setup could work:

No. Each transaction type can only have one rounding factor.

Yes. The same rounding factor can be used across multiple transaction types.

Just go to novobanco Online or visit your Branch. 
At the Branch, activation is immediate — rounding starts on the same day. 
On novobanco Online, the standard activation time is 24 hours, and in exceptional cases it may take up to 48 hours.

Yes. You can change or cancel the service at any time via novobanco Online or at your Branch. 
At the branch, changes or cancellations take effect on the same day — rounding that day will already follow your updated settings, or stop completely if you cancel the service. Keep a signed copy of your change or cancellation request.

If you do it through novobanco Online, select the change option and choose which rules to remove and/or add. 
If you want to cancel all active options, you don’t need to list them — simply choose the cancellation option. 
The standard processing time is 24 hours, and in exceptional cases up to 48 hours.

There is no minimum or maximum amount. Your first contribution will be the value of your first rounding.
