How to pay your credit card

At novobanco you choose how you want to repay the expenses made with your credit card. Your decision depends on how you want to pay and how much you want to have available. Learn how our repayment options work and make the most of all the benefits.

Credit card repayment options

Explore our solutions and choose the best way to pay your credit card. Pay the full amount, a percentage from 5% of the outstanding principal, or a fixed amount with a minimum of 4% of the credit limit.

Paying the full outstanding balance

Pay your card balance in full with no interest. 
The used balance is repaid in full by the payment deadline.

Percentage payments of the outstanding balance. 5%, 15%, 50% or 100%, with a minimum of €10. 
Partial repayment of the outstanding card balance is subject to interest and charges.

Choose a fixed amount to pay each month based on your budget. The minimum is 4% of your credit limit.

Pay in fixed monthly instalments for up to 36 months. Choose up to 10 credit card transactions with a minimum value of €75, whether purchases or cash advance, and know what to expect every month.

    You just need to select that purchase or cash advance transaction up to the statement closing date where it appears, through one of these channels: novobanco Online, App, or Direct Line.

     

Credit card payment dates 

When will I pay the outstanding balance?
The used balance can be paid in full by the payment deadline shown on the monthly statement. In that case no interest is charged. Or it can be paid partially.

Can I change the statement payment date?
Yes. Whenever you want, you can change the payment option or the payment date for your card on novobanco Online or on the App.

To change the credit card payment option, you must do it up to the statement closing date through novobanco Online.

 

Frequently asked questions

Yes. You can make full or partial payments on a different date. These are considered one-off payments. They release the outstanding balance and may stop the monthly payment.

If you make a one-off payment equal to or above the minimum amount due, after the statement closing date and up to the payment deadline shown on the statement, the monthly payment on the payment deadline is stopped.

If the one-off payment is below the minimum amount due and before the set payment date, the system will debit the difference on the payment date.

Yes. If you choose full payment 100%, on the payment deadline.

Yes. You can request a temporary or permanent increase to your credit limit in novobanco Online, through the Direct Line 707 247 360, or at your Branch.

The call cost for Direct Line through 218 837 700 is the cost agreed between the customer and their telecommunications operator, and through 707 247 365 it is €0.09 per minute from the fixed network and €0.13 per minute from the mobile network, plus VAT at the legal rate in force. Personalized support on weekdays from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m., and on weekends and public holidays from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
